It began with light and old glass.
In the early 2000s,
I worked on minimalist LED lights
while collecting old glass bottles and beads.
At some point, the idea emerged
to bring the two together –
out of a poetic impulse.
Light has fascinated me
for as long as I can remember.
As presence.
I don’t just find things.
I find ideas.
Every piece begins with an encounter.
With a fragment.
With a trace.
What follows is patient work –
observing, adjusting, reducing –
in the trust
that material and light
will enter into a coherent relationship.
Beauty is present.
I live and work in Hamburg.
My studio is a place of concentration.
Of reduction.
Of attention.
This is where the jeweLIGHTS come into being.
